Good simple Japanese fare at a very reasonable price. Pleasant service from Japanese staff albeit in very simple surroundings.

Keen to try new Japanese in Cammeray. Seemed reasonably priced with a small menu. Nice decor. Not a lot of tables, but still largely empty on a Sunday night.
First there was much confusion over ordering and my drink took 10mins.
Edamame- meh.
Salmon sushimi- I've had a lot of sushimi in my time and this was awful. It was cold, like unpleasantly cold. It was pearly like it was a fatty off cut not the veined bright orange one would expect. It was also very roughly chopped- pieces weren't uniform and they were rectangular, chunks and triangles.
Chilli tofu- alright.
Rice- best part of the night. Sticky but not gluggy.
Teriyaki salmon- the horror. 5 pieces (slices about 0.5cm) of rubbery extremely over cooked salmon on a sizzle plate with onion as and only the tiniest trace of teriyaki sauce. Onions were not too bad. But Ergh.
It was cheap- all came to less than $40. Except that we'll all need feeding again tonight...
Needless to say we will not be returning and cannot see it lasting long.
